Thanks 2013

This year was very intense, because many things happened. Although, at the beginning I thought that everything was bad, then, I started to think about the positive side of things. Sometimes, the bad moments that we go through are a valuable tool for learning about ourselves. I think that my main achievement was developing my capacity for positive thinking and grow even when life may not be easy.

For me 2013 was a year to learn about myself, in many contexts. I learned about those things that I would like to develop in my profession and job. I discovered the things that I would never like to do, because I would feel as I am not respecting myself, and this is very important for me.

Also, this year was interesting because I knew a lot of music that I would have never imagined to listen to before. Besides them I also discovered many television series that became addicted to. My favorite series are the BBC ones; I cannot stop watching them. For example, North and South of Elizabeht Gaskell, and all Jane Austen’s books. But my favorite one of books is Jean Eyre, it is based on the novel. Feel as if you were in those historical locations, even you can feel what being Jean Eyre could be.

Another thing, that I discovered, was the book about Mayas fabrics. It is a beautiful book about textile tradition in Mayas community, the book not only has wonderful photos, also it has a lot of information about this tradition. The photos, a part from being a piece of fine art, it has a big potential because it shows the Mayas rich culture.

After all, I think that this 2013 is and was a great year. Thanks 2013!!!!

I am very green!!!

I try always to have practice environmentally friendly, and also try a role model. I am concerned of have best practices.

In my home recycle and separating trash. In my kitchen there space where separating plastic, paper or paperboard, glass and organic trash. I can do is, because in the place where live is system the recycle. Every Tuesday garbage truck collected the trash for recycle.

In my balcony I have the garden, where we harvest these plants. Mainly for little consumption the house, for example tomato, onion, oregano, basil, etc.

Also use products the clean that do not contain chemical. This form not contaminated the water. Maybe if another person’s the same things, the contamination the water would be less.    

My cosmetic and product how shampoo, soap, deodorant, etc, also do not contain chemical. Always try the buy product environmentally friendly and that are not based in experimental with animals.

In general try buying product make for small and medium sized enterprises, that who are concerned about environmentally problems. I think that is form the join forces, and encouraged ideas that would help a cleaner a healthier environment.

Also I am use the bike to move around the city. I live in the place that permit this, that’s why I do. The car I use only necessary, for example in the travel in the other city.

Maybe is difficult in the first moment, but start by with little step. This is an enormous help for all.

Many people do not understand what they read. In my opinion, this happens because people do not learn to read correctly, mainly children at school. But children nowadays are not interested in reading, maybe they feel reading is boring and very slow.

I think that children these days are not accustomed to slow things. They want quick things and immediacy. But reading requires time and patience.  My opinion is that parents must learn to read to children. If children look at their parents reading, they would want to read.

But my question is: Is the global society worried about the situation? Because if the society would be interested more, they would stimulate their children to read.

I think it is very important that children read since young age. Because they can develop reading skills and also, pleasure when reading good book.

Also there is a proven relationship between reading and what happens in the brain, and not only the brain is stimulated. Many other organs in the body are stimulated. Because reading requires a lot of analyses, critique, the understanding  of ideas, abstraction, etcetera.

If at young age parents would read story books, and we would ask them also what they think about the history, maybe more people would be interested in reading and in understanding it. Maybe, in this case there will be people with the capacity to express their opinions, without fear and shame.

Mike Morwood and the fosil Hobbit
